Is a petition to have conviction reduced/dismissal the same as a motion of reduction?
I am trying to get my felony reduced to a misdemeanor.
I took a plea to a felony in 07 that stated that I can get it reduced to a misdemeanor upon successful complete (which I just completed). It is NOT a wobbler offense, however, the plea stated that I am eligible to have my felony of possession for sale to a misdemeanor possession charge.
I am unsure if I am supposed to file a “petition to have conviction reduced(or petition for dismissal)” or a motion of reduction “(of felony to misdemeanor)”
I am trying to do this myself so I don’t have to hire a lawyer. I cannot afford one since I am a college student.
